Daughter of August Frederick Rutz and Wilhelmine Friderika Soffia Peetzke.

They settled and farmed in Rankin, Ontario.

CHILDREN

Their marriage was blessed with three sons and seven daughters. Their sons were Albert, August and Alexander. Their daughters were Mathilde, (Mrs. Otto Bimm); Annie, (Mrs. Herman Bimm); Wilhelmine, (Mrs. Lubitz); Bertha, (Mrs. Maxime Lance); Helene, (Mrs. Goodheart); Ida, (Mrs. Torgerson); and Clara, (Mrs. Perry).

The oldest child Tillie and her husband Otto Bimm lived in Eganville, mother of Aldena, Mrs. Robert Hampel; Gertrude, Mrs. Ellard Popp; and Gerald. At this time she is 97 years old and a resident of Mirimichi Lodge in Pembroke.

The oldest son Albert lived on a farm at Lake Dore where he owned and operated a lime kiln which was said to provide the finest slaked lime in the country used in plastering mostly. However when the government intervened with his handling of the lime, he went out of production and bought a farm at Rankin which yielded wood products for his sons.


The next son August, moved to Pembroke and with his father, built three houses on Dominion Street in town and he resided in one of them until the death of his parents at which time he and his family moved to Brantford. His wife survives him and was able to attend the Biederman get-together in 1981.

Alexander, the youngest son and his wife Jean Metcalfe live in Espanola, parents of two daughters.

Wilhelmine, Mrs. Lubitz lived for some time in Pembroke but moved to Kitchener.

Ida, Mrs. Torgerson and Clara, Mrs. Perry made their homes in the vicinity of Detroit, Michigan. 

Helene, Mrs. Goodheart resided in Niagara Falls, New York. Her son Grant attended the get-together.

Annie, Mrs. Herman Bimm and Bertha, Mrs. Maxime Lance resided in Pembroke.

Daughter Lizzie died in early life.
